Dr. Sarah Dermody

Dr. Sarah Dermody is a graduate of the APA and PCSAS accredited Clinical Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. She completed a CPA-accredited predoctoral residency at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) where she provided individual and group therapy to adults with a variety of mental health and substance related concerns.
Dr. Dermody works with college-age populations, adults, and couples. She has expertise in psychological assessment and individual and group evidence-based treatments for a number of clinical concerns such as:
Depression
Anxiety
Binge eating
Alcohol and tobacco use
Major life transitions
She uses evidence-based treatments such as:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
Dr. Dermody is also an assistant professor at Ryerson University where her research focuses on substance use and treatment (especially alcohol and tobacco use), and the mental health and well-being of members of the LGBTQ2A+ community.
She has published more than 40 scientific articles on these topics and has presented at national and international conferences.
